The client
KALPA Systems wanted to fill a niche in the Corporate Training industry with an Intranet system that manages employee training and development. MS Datastep was chosen to build their flagship system.

The idea
Kalpa needed a web site for their new product, a customizable learning management system. An organization can purchase a package for their Intranet and provide employees with on-line courses. It will also track their progress and provide reporting for HR.

The step up
The educational experts at Kalpa Systems had the program designs on paper. They knew the needs of the industry, and had experience with existing educational software, but they had to seek out development assistance to make this product a reality.

MS Datastep took the paper plans, and working with Kalpa, developed the actual system. We assisted in refining the final design including the screen flow, and suggested additional features available from such an advanced database system. We also worked on system integration with third party eductiaon software such as Lectora.

MS Datastep brought even more to this project beyond application development. Our expertise in systems was highlighted by our screen design. Our graphic designers developed a beautiful user interface to impress clients and their employees. We have experience designing effecient and effective user interfaces for large groups such as in a corporate situation, which was an important addition to this product offering.

The collaboration on this product was so successful, it lead to another web-based application by Kalpa Systems, the Professional Development Plan.
